The business concept includes the establishment of a biodiesel production plant in the region of Crete in order to exploit the high waste vegetable oil potential of Crete. The annual capacity of the plant will be 2.000tn and it will be developed in the prefecture of Chania. Biodiesel is a renewable fuel derived from oils and fats and can substitute the use of mineral diesel fuel without any technical modifications in the existing diesel engines. The raw material, mainly used cooking oils from enterprises in food service sector (restaurants, taverns, fast food etc), will be sourced and secured in cooperation with existing private unofficial collection firms. |
